Sunday June 8th will mark the kick-off of the most exciting and talked about series in off-road racing in Ontario. The first of this four round series will take place at the well know property in Shelburne that was the birth of this race format five years ago.
All riders are welcomed from the most novice level child on a 50cc automatic up to and including 16 year old experienced off-road racers on full size bikes. Champions will be awarded in the following classes:
Pee Wee – 50cc Automatic
C – Class – Novice riders with minimal to no competition experience
B – Class – Intermediate level racers with racing experience
A – Class – The most experienced top level racers on small wheel bikes
Super Youth – 16 years of age and under on full size bikes
The “special test” enduro race format has riders competing individually against the clock and not bar to bar. This allows for a much more controlled environment for youth who may be intimidated by Cross Country or Motocross competition. This is not to say that the racing isn’t fierce. Anyone who has attended one of these events knows that riders are pushing extremely hard to set the fastest time in their class. With electronic transponder scoring, results are fast and accurate. Transponders are on loan for those who do not own one.
As always, the $30 entry includes a BBQ lunch and refreshments for all. Lunch is available after the competition finishes and before the awards ceremony.
This year we would like to introduce a new feature to the event which is an equipment and bike “swap meet” area. This area will be clearly marked at each round and people are encouraged to bring their used riding gear, parts, and bikes for sale. As we all know, kids grow out of riding gear and motorcycles very quickly and what better opportunity is there to pass down your boots, pants or bike to the next proud owner. It is asked that all items are marked with name, contact number and price when put on display for sale.
Weather is looking perfect for race day and the course has just been groomed. It will be a fantastic day.
