Monster Energy Thor Kawasaki Takes Two Wins at Canadian Arenacross Opener
Maier sweeps Pro-Am Lites class at Season Opener in Armstrong
Kamloops, BC(October 28, 2014) The 2014 Future West Canadian Arenacross series kicked off this past weekend in Armstrong, British Columbia and the Monster Energy Thor Kawasaki team came prepared to battle it out for the Championship with riders Teddy Maier and Jess Pettis.
Iowa native, Maier, hadn’t raced the series in a couple years but wasted no time in getting in the mix by taking the opening win of the series with a victory in the Pro-Am Lites main event on Friday night on his KX250F. On Saturday, he backed up his win in the Pro-Am Lites class before jumping on his KX450F and taking the Head to Head victory and made an impressive charge in the Open class to make a last lap pass for second place.
Maier was pretty happy with how his weekend went: “Obviously, I would have like to win the Open mains but I’m glad I could take both wins in the Lites class. It was hard to pass out there and I know that the tracks will get better from here so I’m excited to keep the momentum rolling into the next race.”
Pettis had an up and down weekend, with a best finish of a seventh in Saturday’s Lites main event.
The series now moves on to Cloverdale, BC for Rounds 3 and 4 on November 8th and 9th. For more information on the Future West Arenacross Series, check out www.arenacross.ca
