Monster Energy Alpinestars Kawasaki kicks the 2017 season off at home in Kamloops
Consistent day for Alessi and Hayes at Canadian MX season opener

For Immediate Release
June 6, 2017(Kamloops, British Columbia) The 2017 CMRC Canadian Motocross National season kicked off this past weekend and the Monster Energy Alpinestars Kawasaki team was excited to get things going in their hometown of Kamloops, British Columbia.

After getting injured at the season opener last year, MX2 rider, Jacob Hayes, was looking to get through the first race without incident and he would have a solid day, qualifying fifth overall and riding to 6-4 moto finishes for fifth overall on the day. Hayes was happy with his day but looking to improve as the season progresses: “I expect a lot better of myself but after what happened last year, I’ll take 5th today. We’ll make some changes to the bike for next weekend and I’m confident I’ll be battling for wins soon.”

In MX1, Mike Alessi rode to 7-9 moto finishes for eighth overall.

The team would also like to give a big congratulations to fellow Kawasaki rider, Dillan Epstein, who took the first MX1 moto win of the season and finished second oveall on the day.

The series now heads north for the brand new round at Prince George, BC’s Blackwater MX track. For more information on the Canadian National Motocross series, visit www.mxnationals.ca
