It is with immense pleasure that Parts Canada announces a renewed sponsorship of 2017 Liqui Moly Pro Sport Bike Canadian national champion, Tomas Casas for the 2018 season!
The 18-year old national champion accredits much of last season’s success on the Yamaha VR46 Masterclass in Italy. As one of just 6 participants, the first ever Canadian to attend, the training camp instructed by European racing experts grants gifted racers a platform to consider transforming their national championship titles into international racing careers.
The camp, held in May 2017, offered the grade 12 student from Peterborough, a boost in fitness and technical ability, perfecting techniques such as bike control and receiving insight from his childhood idol and host, Valentino Rossi, who was on hand throughout the training. This experience provided Casas with a competitive edge in his Canadian return, winning 1st place in the Liqui Moly Pro Sport Bike championship.
The former motocross athlete eased his way into the road racing scene following his move from Colombia several years ago, a transition which has paid off thanks to training, determination and community support. The 2015 CSBK Pro Rookie of the Year’s impressive standings have led him to race both in Canada and the United States as a freshly seasoned racer.
Following a June crash competing at the 2017 Mopar CSBK Canadian Superbike Championship, the teen has been training tirelessly and considers the incident a bump on a very long and flourishing road. Tomas Casas is expected to make a grand entrance at the CSBK opening round in Shannonville, May 27th, and each of the Mopar CSBK Championship rounds in 2018 with Parts Canada, Alpinestars and HJC Helmets keeping him safe on the track.
On to the next one, #46!
