Toronto, ONT – AW7R Inc. and Alex Welsh are proud to announce the teams continuation in the 2013 Mopar Canadian Superbike Championship utilizing Suzuki’s mighty GSX-R 1000.
Starting this weekend, June 7-9 at Shannonville Motorsport Park, the AW7R team is poised and ready to battle for the Canadian Championship. After winning the final race of the series in 2012, the team is riding that wave of momentum into
Maintaining both the engine and chassis on his #7 machines, Alex has the fortune of retaining the same crew from previous years. This familiarity with both the people and equipment will benefit him as the season progresses.
The team is also pleased to announce the renewed support of Kenwood Electronics Canada Inc. A leader in high performance audio and communication equipment, Kenwood has again stepped up as the title sponsor of the AW7R team for the third consecutive year.
“I’m really excited with the way everything has fallen into place this year. We had some success throughout the 2012 season but there were rounds where I simply lost ground with regards to the overall Championship. We worked hard over the winter to isolate many of the issues we faced; we have emerged with a lot of resolution. As a result, I think we’re all coming into the opener this weekend fairly optimistic. The team has a lot of consistency carrying forward again this year, beginning with Kenwood and all the sponsors to the crew and equipment. I am very confident in the program I have been able to put together.”
